Built That Way - meet Andy Kelly

Meet Andrew Kelly! Our superstar Recruitment Consultant who works in the Labour Hire team.

Andrew (also known as Andy) joined JV in mid 2021 and not only brings plenty of recruitment experience, but also a great dose of humour! Originally from the UK and holding a degree in business studies, focusing in strategic human resource management, Andrew showcases a desire to get people into the jobs they love and to offer solutions and guidance for career pathways.

Working in a variety of labouring sectors all over Australia, Andrew has a heap of experience in software sales, focusing in HR software, as well as managing hospitality venues around the world for a number of years. Andrew also comes with plenty of on the tools experience, so he knows what to look for when sourcing for Labour Hire positions. He’s had a variety of on-site positions completing house renovations, from labouring roles through to finishing roles, and it's this experience that's helping him sync in with our Trades & Labour Hire team.

What attracted you to working at JV?

From speaking with the team, I knew it would be a place I would settle into; with a young likeminded team in terms of interests

What is your expertise at JV? How many years of experience do you have in this area? How would I describe what I do to someone completely unfamiliar with my field?

My expertise would be attracting long-term candidates for some more difficult-to-fill roles. I have 2 years of experience in HR Software sales which developed my personal and negotiation skills allowing me to build rapport quickly.

I find candidates for day-day construction roles such as labourers and carpenters.

If you recruit, what roles do you typically recruit into?

I typically recruit for Labourers, Carpenters and ticketed labourers such as hoist operators

What do I love most about what I do?

Fast-paced and diverse role. No two days are the same, and time flies

What are you passionate about, personally?

I am passionate about the environment and football (*real football)

Sir Alex Ferguson – He did what it took for the greater good and always stuck by his decisions when people doubted him
